About Jacky

Jacky has a Master's Degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Colorado State University. She has been doing personal training since her time at CSU, which has now been over 15 years. Jacky has trained:
*clients ranging from 13 years to 92 years old
*a baseball team and an ice hockey team
*one celebrity
*people with limitations, including strokes, heart disease, diabetes, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, orthopedic injuries, total joint replacements, back injuries and surgery, arthritis, and thyroid issues, and still gets amazing results!

While Jacky can work with a wide variety of people and different fitness goals, her specialty is women with the "post-menopausal" weight gain. 

     Jacky grew up in New York. In high school, she worked with the Athletic Trainer and started learning sports medicine. She loved it so much she went to college wanting that as a major. She attending Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York. During her time at Hartwick, Jacky continued working for the Athletic Trainer all four years, and was only paid for this work one semester. She also worked at a local orthopedic and physical therapy clinic under the best orthopedist in the area (Dr. James Elting). She also worked in the clinic's fitness area as a fitness instructor.
Upon graduation from Hartwick, Jacky attended Colorado State University in the Master's Degree program in Exercise and Sport Science. Jacky was granted a Graduate Teaching Assistantship and taught weight training, and lab classes for Exercise Science undergraduate students. She also worked at a health club as a Personal Trainer (Miramont Sport Center, now called Miramont Lifestyle Fitness). In addition, while at CSU, Jacky assisted the Club Team's Athletic Trainer, working with the Baseball and Ice Hockey teams.
After completing her coursework at CSU, Jacky accepted a position in Orlando, Florida, helping manage the Women's Wellness Center, being the weekend manager and fitness instructor. In addition, Jacky was the Director of Aquatic Therapy at Kissimmee Physical Therapy in Kissimmee, FL.
Jacky relocated to Scottsdale in February of 2000. She started working as a Personal Trainer at Q the Sports Club (now owned by 24 Hour Fitness). She left the Q to start her own business in July of 2001, doing independent, in-home personal training.
Jacky also has worked as an Instructor at Scottsdale and Paradise Valley Community Colleges since August of 2000. She has taught many Exercise Science classes for students wishing to become personal trainers, and also Nutrition and activity classes such as Women and Weight Training. Jacky has also been a guest lecturer at Arizona State University for numerous semesters. 

On a Personal Note:
Jacky was diagnosed with osteopenia in 2005 despite her healthy lifestyle. Since then, she has studied this condition and remains in the forefront of information about how to reverse and prevent both osteopenia and osteoporosis. She has successfully reversed her own osteopenia!

Jacky loves riding her bike, going for walks, dancing, and watching movies, especially comedies.

Jacky is married to Alex, who is the Head Baseball Coach at Scottsdale Community College. They have two dogs named Chipper and Gibson, both of whom are rescue dogs.
